Intermediate Chorus is an mid-level, auditioned choir for students in grades 9-12 (almost exclusively grades 10-12), who are interested in further developing choral music skills. Proper vocal technique along with more advanced choral literature, sight singing, rhythm reading are stressed in this course. Additionally, the Intermediate Chorus continues to work on good posture, collaboration, and practice/performance techniques. Performance expectations include four evening concerts, spaced throughout the year, and ISSMA State Qualification in April; additional opportunities include Solo and Ensemble Contest, musical cast, and two extracurricular ensembles.
