Welcome to your fourth year of Art! AP Studio Art is a yearlong class designed to prepare the Artist's portfolio for consideration to a BFA, BA, or professional based program in Visual Art. It is intended as a Senior Only, college level course with a rigorous syllabus which was passed out in class on Friday, August 11, 2017. Please follow the syllabus carefully for all due dates and requirements. Exhibitions, Competitions, Field Trips and other important notes will be added upon confirmation of these dates.
Be advised, all work is in pursuit of the 24-piece AP Portfolio requirement displaying not only "breadth" of technique and abilities, but with a personalized "Area of Concentration" which portrays your unique style and interests. Again, refer to the syllabus for dates on which type and when each is due.
As part of this class you will be required to maintain a Daily Visual Journal (sketchbook) utilizing c.two hours of work per week in addition to and in support of the Portfolio. One of each week's five must come from the Experimental List" given on the first day of the course.
Additionally, three in-depth, outside "sourced" full page written critiques are also required. For assistance with these critiques, please see me.
